The Academic Secretary and Research Director (ASRD) office is a part of CEU Central Administration. It supports the operation of CEU Governance bodies – Board of Trustees, Senate and Academic Forum – and the development and implementation of CEU Academic Policies.

The ASRD is the CEU's Academic Liason Officer CEU’s with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in the U.S. and is responsible for accreditation of all CEU Degree Programs with the New York State Education Department. The ASRD supports enhancing the visibility of CEU research and coordinates the Research Support Scheme with the Academic Cooperation and Research Support Office (ACRO).

The ASRD coordinates the implementation of the Institutional Assessment and Quality Assurance (IAQA) policy at CEU including convening the IAQA Group and preparing the IAQA Plan and the IAQA Manual.
